Privacy Policy

This website does not collect, store or share personal information about the people who visit it. This policy explains that in full, and explains separately how the school itself handles the information families give us.

The short version

This is a plain, static information website for Ada and Children Upper Room International Academy. It has no user accounts, no database, no analytics and no advertising.

  • We do not set cookies.
  • We do not track you across this or any other website.
  • We do not ask you to create an account.
  • The contact form does not send anything to us — it opens your own messaging app with the text prepared, and you decide whether to send it.

The rest of this policy sets out the detail, and explains how the school — as opposed to this website — handles pupil and family records.

Who we are

Ada and Children Upper Room International Academy is a general education school for elementary and junior high pupils, located at Blakays Town Community, Ganta City, Nimba County, Liberia.

For any question about this policy, or about information the school holds, telephone the school office on 701-809-8225 during opening hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday), or come to the campus in person.

What this website collects

This website collects nothing from you directly. There are no forms that submit data to us, no login, no newsletter sign-up and no comment system.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the hosting service that delivers these pages may automatically record standard technical information each time a page is requested — typically the IP address making the request, the time, the page requested, and the browser identification string. These records are created and held by the hosting provider for security and reliability, not by the school, and we do not use them to build a profile of any individual.

No analytics, no advertising

We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable measurement service. We do not run advertising, and no advertising network receives information about your visit. There are no third-party tracking scripts of any kind on these pages.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. Nothing is written to your browser for the purpose of identifying or tracking you.

The site does register a service worker, which is a small script your browser runs to keep a copy of the pages and images you have already downloaded. Its only purpose is speed: it means the site loads quickly, and continues to work, when your connection is slow or drops out entirely.

The service worker cache lives entirely on your own device. Nothing in it is transmitted to the school or to anyone else, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

The contact form

The form on our contact page is not a conventional contact form and it deserves a clear explanation.

When you fill it in and press one of the send buttons, the page assembles what you typed into a message and hands it to your own device — either to WhatsApp or to your text messaging app. Nothing is transmitted to this website or stored on any server belonging to the school.

Your message reaches us only if you then choose to send it from your own app. At that point it is an ordinary message from you to the school’s telephone number, and it is handled like any other message we receive.

Messages sent through WhatsApp travel over WhatsApp’s service and are subject to that company’s own privacy practices, which the school does not control.

Information the school holds

This section is about the school, not the website. When you enroll a child, we necessarily record information in order to teach and care for them.

What we record

  • The pupil’s name, age and grade placement.
  • The name and telephone number of the parent or guardian acting as the school’s point of contact.
  • Previous school records supplied at enrollment, such as a report card or transfer certificate.
  • Attendance, class work, test and examination results produced during their time with us.
  • Records of fees paid.

Why we record it

To place each pupil in the correct grade, to teach and assess them, to reach a parent or guardian when a child is unwell or absent, to issue report cards and transfer certificates, and to register Grade 9 pupils for West African Examinations Council examinations.

Who we share it with

Pupil records are seen by the teachers and administrative staff who need them. We share information outside the school only where it is necessary — for example, submitting a candidate registration to the West African Examinations Council, or issuing a transfer certificate to a school your child is moving to — or where the law requires it.

We do not sell pupil or family information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or commercial third parties.

How long we keep it

Academic records are kept for as long as they may reasonably be needed, so that we can issue a transfer certificate or confirm a former pupil’s results years after they leave. Routine administrative paperwork is kept for a shorter period.

Children’s privacy

This website is written for parents, guardians and members of the community. It is not directed at children, and it contains nothing that invites a child to submit information about themselves — because it does not invite anyone to submit information about themselves.

Information about pupils reaches the school through their parent or guardian at enrollment, in person, and is handled as described in the section above.

Other services we link to

Some links and buttons on this site hand you over to services the school does not run:

  • Telephone links open your phone’s dialler with our number entered.
  • WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which is operated by a third party under its own privacy policy.
  • Text message links open your device’s own messaging application.
  • Donation checkout links on the Support page open our payment provider’s secure checkout. Card details are entered there, on their systems — this website never sees, collects or stores card information.

Once you leave this website, this policy no longer applies. We would encourage you to read the privacy policy of any service you are handed on to.

Your rights and requests

Because this website holds nothing about you, there is nothing held here for you to access, correct or erase.

For records the school holds about you or your child, a parent or guardian may ask to see them, ask for a correction where something is factually wrong, or ask a question about how they are used. Telephone the office on 701-809-8225, or come to the campus during opening hours. We may ask you to identify yourself before discussing a pupil’s records, for the protection of the child.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page and the “last updated” date at the top will change. Because the site sets no cookies and holds no contact details for visitors, we have no way to notify you directly — please check this page if the question matters to you.
